Moto X Release Date Arrives August 23rd

Whether users choose to customize the color of their Moto X or not, pricing will depend on on-board storage size. The Moto X on AT&T will come with 16GB of on-board storage for $199.99, 32GB of on-board storage for $249.99. That pricing is after the user signs up for a two-year service agreement. Those who wish to purchase the Moto X as part of the AT&T Next monthly payment system will be able to get the 16GB version of the device for $27 per month and the 32GB version of the Moto X for $32 per month.

For those who simply can’t wait, AT&T will allow a small amount of users to create their own custom designed Moto X and get it before the device goes on sale.

AT&T’s availability announcement comes mere hours after detailed customization features available to users through the Moto Maker website.
Through that website users can customize nearly everything about their device including button and body color options, accent button coloring and storage capacity. Uses can even specify what wallpaper and Google Account they’d like the device to arrive configured with.
The Moto X features a 4.7-inch HD display, LTE capabilities, 2GB of RAM a 10 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2 megapixel font-facing camera. Users won’t be able to customize the Motorola-made X8 processor inside the device.

Motorola has yet to detail when users on other networks will be able to pick up the Moto X, though it did say the device would come to users on Verizon and T-Mobile.

With a larger display, it makes sense for Samsung to also unveil a small wearable Galaxy Note 3 accessory that puts a small screen on your wrist.




The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch could be a perfect pair this fall.



According to SamMobile the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch is “confirmed” for the Unpacked Episode 2 announcement, where it will appear on stage with the Galaxy Note 3.

The Samsung Gear smartwatch may include a small flexible display that would allow the watch to use a decent size display without adding tons of bulk to a wrist. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch would likely use Bluetooth Low Power to connect to the Galaxy Note 3 and to other Android devices. Bluetooth LE is a standard feature in Android 4.3, and Samsung already supports it on some devices ahead of the Android 4.3 update.

Is this a Tray of iPhone 5S Batteries !

The iPhone 5S release could arrive in late September or Early October, and new photos show that manufacturers may already be ramping up for iPhone 5S production.
Early this morning a photo showing trays of batteries appeared online, which the leaker claims are iPhone 5S batteries waiting for an iPhone battery connector to be attached before heading to assembly lines for the iPhone 5S.
The leaked photo comes by way ofnowhereelse.fr, which previously leaked several alleged iPhone 5S parts and has a history of providing Apple leaks. The photo below allegedly shows trays of iPhone 5S batteries stacked and waiting for a final piece before being shipped off to Foxconn where the assembly will likely take place.

In the photo we see 24 batteries on the surface and what appears to be a stack of 40 or more trays, which means we could be looking at roughly 500 batteries. That’s assuming these are iPhone 5S batteries and not just random batteries for a phone or an iPhone knockoff. There is also a possibility that they are iPhone 5 batteries waiting for markings and connectors.
A set of previous iPhone 5S leaks showed room for a larger battery and a battery with a slightly higher capacity, but none of the leaks are verified, which means it is not clear if Apple is planning to put a bigger battery in the new iPhone . There is hope for better iPhone battery life with the iPhone 5S though. Apple recently delivered a huge battery life gain on the MacBook Air with a small battery size increase and more efficient internals.
iPhone 5S leaks are growing as the rumored September launch approaches. Recently leaks of an alleged iPhone 5S back appeared, showing a new pill-shaped dual-LED flash. One recurring rumor is a dual-LED flash and a better camera sensor. Apple upgraded the camera in the iPhone 4S and in the iPhone 5, and will likely do the same with the iPhone 5S.

Manchester Museum Statue Eerily Spins by Itself

Nothing like a little magic to spice up a casual museum visit.
Over several months, employees at the Manchester Museum noticed one of their statues spinning slowly while sitting in its glass case. The odd thing was that it had no physical contact with anything while on the shelf.

Several months ago, we noticed that one of our Middle Kingdom statuettes was spinning around imperceptibly slowly in its new case in our Egyptian Worlds gallery. We set up a time lapse camera to take one image every minute for a week. This is the result.

The cause may be subtle vibrations from footfall or traffic outside, but the statuette has been on a glass shelf in about the same place in the gallery for decades and has never moved before -- and none of the other objects in the case move in any way.
