In a post on Reddit, Shane shows off his new custom Samsung Galaxy S III, the only custom Galaxy S III that Samsung has sent out in Canada. Samsung claims that it’s a reward for the good press that Bennett brought to the company with his original request.
Before the Galaxy S III was released, Bennett decided to plead with Samsung for a Galaxy S III. He drew a dragon for Samsung which he hoped would convince them to give him one early. (He also claimed to have bought several Samsung products in the past.)
Samsung has surprised Shane Bennett with a customized Galaxy S III.
Samsung Canada’s Facebook account politely declined Bennett’s request and instead of a new Galaxy S III, gave him a photo of a kangaroo riding a unicycle. Bennett then posted the exchange on Reddit where the post went viral.
Today, he posted on Reddit again though this time, it’s of a Galaxy S III and not a Facebook exchange. Samsung decided to send Bennett a customized Galaxy S III with the picture of the dragon on it.
Even the box was customized.
As far as we can tell, the Galaxy S III that he received is the same Galaxy S III that was released in several regions of the world earlier this year, well, except for the dragon case.
We should also add that Samsung also included a customized box for Bennett’s customized Galaxy S III.
We imagine this will likely spawn numerous other attempts at getting a customized Galaxy S III or another product from Samsung though we suspect that this is likely going to be a one time thing.
As it should be.

In any event, Samsung needs as much good PR as it can get right now with the Apple patent lawsuit loss and the $1 billion in damages it owes hanging over its head.
Nice going, Sammy.
keep up with the newest technologies and contemplate about how these will be used in the future. On this blog I'll share my thoughts about the future of technology, based on the high Tech Road Show Blog inventions of today.Among other things, the ex-employee says some customers spent outlandish sums on virtual goods and services in many games — including one user who spent $100,000 on Mafia Wars.
The alleged ex-Zynga employee goes by the handle “mercenary-games” on Reddit and began posting about a day ago. He says he worked at Zynga for eight months but that he quit the company six months ago.
The person makes many claims about the game company, but one of the most eyebrow-raising is the alleged amounts of actual dollars some of its customers spend playing the games through Facebook. He says he’s seen someone spend $20,000 on FrontierVille and another player “commit” up to $100,000 on Mafia Wars. Further, Zynga has a special name for players who spend in excess of $10,000: Zynga Black.
The company supposedly focuses almost all of its attention on players who spend money, treating those who play for free as “spam.” The post author claims those players are the “hardcore” crowd, to whom Zynga caters, tweaking features to encourage gameplay habits that bring in the most money.
The post, filled with unsubstantiated claims about Zynga corporate culture, sparked a lot of heated discussion. A few other posters claim to be current Zynga employees and, while some refute the author’s claims, others support them.
The alleged revelations about how Zynga makes money parallel somewhat with Facebook’s recent IPO filing. Just as Facebook revealed its interdependence on Zynga for a significant part of its income as a potential weakness, Zynga’s dependence on what the author calls “addicts” put a great deal of financial control in the hands of a small group.
Do you spend money on Zynga games? What’s the most you’ve ever spent and what did you buy? Let us know in the comments.
