Possible Nokia Lumia EOS Body Leaks

Pictures of what’s purportedly, the Nokia Lumia EOS an often rumored Nokia smartphone with a 41-megapixel camera sensor and PureView camera optics has surfaced.
The images which were sent to WPDang, anonymously depict a device with Nokia’s now signature polycarbonate casing and bright yellow covering that, when viewed from the front looks nearly identical to the front of the Nokia’s current flagship, the Nokia Lumia 920.
However, the rear of the device has a huge hole in its shell, absolutely right where the Lumia 920’s camera is.

Separate pictures also depict two dots located at the lower end of the device. These dots are nearly identical to the dots that exist on Lumia 925, which needs external shells in order to support Nokia’s wireless charging accessories. It’s possible that adding a larger PureView sensor – which is expected to boast possible shooting modes of up to 38 megapixels, simply left no space for the components needed to enable wireless charging on Nokia Lumia EOS out of the box. Despite the larger camera lens, the device seems to only be slightly thicker than the Lumia 920.

In another shot, the device’s round lens housing can be seen right next to the back of the device. In addition to having a rounded out area for what has to be the Nokia EOS’ camera lens, a small rectangular whole can also be see just to the left. That whole seems to perfectly fit the Xenon Flash design from the Nokia Lumia 928 that just went on sale in the United States on Verizon’s wireless network.
Xenon flash allows for even better pictures in taken in low-light than the LED lamp that the Lumia’s that proceeded it used.

Last fall, we found the Nokia 808 PureView –the forefather to this device if recent leaks are true, to be the best camera phone we’d ever used. In fact, the only thing that really ruined the experience was the fact that it shipped using Symbian OS the operating system Nokia relied on prior to its partnership with Microsoft.
Just this week rumors surfaced that AT&T was already be testing out the Lumia EOS for use on its wireless network. Rumors have also indicated that users can expect Nokia to announce the Lumia EOS at an event sometime this July.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Wireless Charging Comes with a Catch

The Samsung Galaxy S4, which was finally announced earlier today will, as expected, support Qi wireless charging. And, as expected the Samsung Galaxy S4 wireless charging will come with a catch. A couple of catches in fact.
At the Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Samsung took the curtain down around the Samsung Galaxy S4 and showcased its Next Big Thing for the very first time. The Galaxy S4, as expected features big name features to keep up with the rest of the Android field including a 5-inch 1080p display, 13MP camera, quad-core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and several Samsung-made software features that are aimed at making life with the smartphone much easier to handle.
The Galaxy S4 will feature wireless charging support, but there's a serious catch.

Speaking of making things easier to handle, the company also showed off a new accessory for the Samsung Galaxy S4, a wireless charging pad that will be able to charge the Galaxy S4 without the use of wires. This is something that we heard rumored in the build up to the Galaxy S4 launch and Samsung delivered with the capabilities.
However, the wireless charging capabilities also come with a pair of catches, one of which was seen from the outset, another that was discovered after the event.
The first catch of the Galaxy S4 wireless charging is the fact that it needs a special back plate to work. Unlike the Droid DNA and Nexus 4 which feature built-in wireless charging, the Galaxy S4 will need to use a back plate, sold separately, in order to charge without wires. That means extra money for consumers.
The Galaxy S4 will use the Qi standard of wireless charging.

The second, and perhaps the biggest catch which was confirmed to Engadget, is the fact that the wireless charging capabilities will only be available if its available in the region and if a carrier chooses to support it. For those on certain carriers that could mean trouble.
So far, we haven’t seen any carriers, in the U.S. that includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon confirm or deny wireless charging or the wireless charging pad, but it could be that one, some or all of them opt not to offer them with their variant of the Galaxy S4.
What this means for future Galaxy S4 owners in the U.S. is unclear at this point but those looking forward to wireless charging should prepare to deal with a bit of red tape, even if all turns out well.

Touchstone mod blesses Samsung Epic 4G Touch with inductive charging powers

The Touchstone's future is just as unclear as any other webOS product at the moment, but it's sure getting a fair share of love from the mod community. Not only did we witness the inductive-charging unit work on a modded Samsung Galaxy S Plus, a bold and daring AndroidCentral Forums member also accomplished the feat on his three-day-old Epic 4G Touch in a process that's definitely not for the faint of heart. The modder (who goes by the name of "darrenf" on the forum) offers a full step-by-step guide on exactly how to do it, but advises that it's "a pretty delicate mod" and attempting it will likely void any warranties or return policies that were attached to the phone when purchased. It also doesn't result in the most aesthetically pleasing look since the charging coil had to be attached to the outside of the phone, but it's gotta give you some massive street cred if you pull it off, right?
